Cornell Strategic Alternatives
Case Competition
The Cornell Strategic Alternatives Case Competition welcomes students who are looking for an opportunity to advance their understanding of alternative investments in private equity, private credit, and venture capital. This year’s case will be a private equity case competition. The competition provides a hands-on opportunity to engage in a real-world problem, provide an impactful solution and showcase analytical and communication skills.
The competition will consist of two rounds:

A virtual semi-final round consisting of a submitted video

Selected teams will be welcomed to Cornell Tech to present in front of industry judges
The winning teams will be announced during the Cornell Alternative Investments Conference. This will be followed by panel sessions and networking opportunities with investment professionals at the 9th Cornell Alternative Investments Conference.
Prize Money

1st Place: $2,000

2nd Place: $1,000

3rd Place: $500

Selected team invitations notified via email on February 13

Entry Fee: $350 per team - fee is only for teams invited to participate; there is no fee to apply

Entry fee includes discounted tickets to the 2024 Cornell Alternative Investments Conference

Additional information, including registration instructions, detailed competition rules, and agenda will be emailed after sign-ups close

Case to be released on February 13 for teams to review & submit prior to the preliminary round (due 2/20)

Preliminary round will be judged on submitted materials and video presentation

Finalists will be notified by February 28

Finalists receive complimentary admission to the Conference
